DAY 1 - INTRODUCTION
The first day of training basically provides you with an introduction to Zebra Financial's systems, processes and practices. A comprehensive training guide can be downloaded on the right. Also available is a training checklist.
1. INTRODUCTION TO OFFICE FACILITIES & EQUIPMENT
During this portion of the training you will be shown around the office. This will include the work spaces / desks, the kitchenette, the bathroom and the meeting room. Additionally, you will also be shown how to use equipment such as the coffee machine, stereo, air conditioning and printer.

2. OVERVIEW OF THE PROCESS
Mortgage Brokering is a complex process and can sometimes be difficult to understand. Therefore, we have split the process into two parts. You will be focusing on the first portion today. To download a copy of this process, click the 'Overview' button.
3. LEARNING TO USE MAC & OTHER APPLICATIONS
At Zebra Financial, we use a MAC operating system. Those who have previous experience with MAC computers do not need to complete this portion. However, during this portion you will be experimenting with different keyboard commands and applications.
4. MERCURY WEBINARS
Our aggregators are Connective, who use the platform Mercury for their brokers. Mercury is the CRM that we use to keep track of all our clients and their personal information. At first, it can be difficult to navigate through Mercury. However, they have fortunately provided instructional webinars. During this module, you will watch and follow these webinars, whilst practicing yourself!


4.1 NAVIGATING MERCURY (2 MINUTES)
This is a video containing a brief introduction to Mercury. Within this video, you get a brief description and explanation of what each tab does.
4.2 CRM - OPPORTUNITIES AND PEOPLE
(20 MINUTES)
This webinar covers the basic functionality of Mercury, and should be viewed by all users prior to using Mercury. It will teach you how to enter and sort Client and Loan details, and run through the basic ways to use the Customer Relationship Management (Management) systems.
4.3 FUNDING POSITION (8 MINUTES)
This webinar shows you how to complete the funding position within the Calculator tab of the Opportunity. This is important for determining the specifics of the deal.
4.4 BORROWING CAPACITY (6 MINUTES)
The borrowing capacity calculator is designed to show you how much the clients can borrow with each bank, based on their income and expenses.
4.5 PRODUCT COMPARISON (15 MINUTES)
This calculator allows you to conduct an analysis of the different products that are offered by each bank that would be suitable for your client.
5. MERCURY PRACTICE
This portion of the training is designed to give your some more practice with the Mercury platform. You are given a 'dummy' case file, and asked to complete the following tasks: create a profile, link the relationship, create an opportunity, create a dropbox file and email the credit guide.
6. COMPARABLE SALES
This part of the training focuses on how to determine a valuation request for a property. Within this part of the training, you will learn how to use RP Data and APM Pricefinder. You will also be provided a copy of a 'Brokers Notes to Support Valuation Request'.
7. OUR FACT FIND
A brief introduction to our manual Fact Find, which we use to capture the client's essential information. This information allows us to proceed with our application. This document can be downloaded by clicking the button located on the right.
8. LIST OF DOCUMENTS REQUIRED
As Mortgage Brokers, we require a lot of documents from our clients. In order to ensure that we get these documents as soon as possible, we email our customers with a list of documents that we require. We do this via Mercury.
9. COMPLIANCE
An introduction to the documents that are required to meet regulatory requirements. You are also shown how to generate each of these documents within Mercury, and given the opportunity to generate these documents using the 'Dummy' case from previous sections.

10. PREPARING LOAN PROTECTION
In addition to Mortgage Brokering services, we also offer our clients 'Loan Protection. This portion of the training shows you how to prepare Loan protection quotes based on the client's information.
